haul road embankment near the intersection of County Road 513 will encroach within 50 feet of Sage
Creek drainage. The haul road ditches are designed to handle the 10-year, 24-hour runoff event and
will prevent any water quality degradation in Sage Creek as a result of the disturbance. The
Revegetation Plan calls for reseeding with a seed mix containing a number of native species present in
the buffer area to be disturbed. The above-refeerenced activities will be conducted with a minimal
disturbance to the hydrologic balance and has been approved in Technical Revision No. 2.
In addition, two haul roads and one topsoil stockpile have bean constructed within the 100-foot stream
buffer zone along Dry Creek. The Seneca II-W Mine Entrance Haul Road (MEHR) crosses Dry Creek just
downstream of the confluence of Hubberson Gulch and Watering Trough Gulch (see Exhibit 13-12.1,
Tab 13). Haul Road G IHRGI and Topsoil Stockpile RR (TSRRI are located approximately one mile
downstream of the MEHR, and HRG also crosses Dry Creek at this location (see Exhibit 13-19.1 AI•
Disturbances to the stream buffer zone in the vicinity of the MEHR are limited to the placement of a
60-inch culvert in Dry Creek, the MEHR, and a small overland flow conveyance ditch. The ditch is
designed to adequately convey runoff from the MEHR without contributing additional suspended solids
to streamflow along Dry Creek. PWCC will place stream buffer zone signs along the northern: and:
southern edges of the MEHR within the permit (boundary to identify the stream buffer zone at this - -
location.
Disturbances to the stream buffer zone in the vicinity of the HRG and TSRR are limited to a riprapped
culvert in-Dry Creek, HRG, TSRR, and associatedsedimeht control structures (berm and sumpl, and
two small overland flow conveyance ditches. The; TSRR features an earthen berm around the base of
the stockpile that conveys runoff and suspended solids to the sump which is designed ;o prevent
contributions of additional suspended sediment to streamflow in Dry Creek. Both small conveyance
ditches lone on each side of HRG) are designed to adequately convey runoff from HRG without
contributing additional suspended solids to Dry Creek. PWCC will place stream buffer zone signs along
the southern edge of the HRG, near Culvert G-1, and at the western edge of TSRR within the permit
boundary to identify the stream buffer zone at this location.
_ _ Following. reclamation grading, salvaged topsoil vvill be replaced and will be disked to partially tie in
with the adjacent undisturbed vegetation.
