Please provide as much detail as possible. It is important to narrow down the issue(s).
Quality of water.4/17/17 Park County cut a trench, the morning of 18th they discovered groundwater in the
trench.A supervisor arrived to inspect the cut and had them backfill the trench and construct a berm above it.
Photo(Zoom 4/18/17)shows the orange cones at the location of the trench. I have video of this also.
I am concerned they are digging too close to my well. Has my well been contaminated?
Between April 20th and April 27th one of their tractors broke down for multiple days, they worked on it in the
pit and I am concerned that hazardous fluids soaked into the soil. I have video of this.
Noise destroys atmosphere of tranquility in fishing areas.--Sound carries for miles around here. Should there
be a berm on all sides of the pit especially between the pit and the campground?
Dust can be unbearable when the wind comes up.Water truck is needed to abate dust. Our elderly
campground customers have difficulty managing their respiratory issues. Dust is damaging units in the RV
storage facility located within 20 feet of the mine and entrance to the storage yard. The soil/dust reacts with
the dew and precipitation and causes an orange discoloration of paint finishes.
County Road 59 has been damaged by construction traffic from the clay pit trucks and equipment and caused
road hazards and vehicle damage.
Pocket gophers and ground squirrels(bubonic plague)are coming over eating wires and cause need for
mitigation by me.—I have contacted CPW.
Now they are dying because of something that they did not die of before.
We are over run by mice(Hanta virus), mosquitos(West Nile)when it rains and clay does not allow for
leaching of standing water.
Attractive nuisance—Deep hole to fall in,fills with water so there is a drowning issue,ATV hills to drive on,
heavy equipment to climb on. Equipment is left idling for long periods of time unattended. 20 mins to 2 hours.
My concern is, is there radon being released from the soil?Has there been any environmental study of this
site at this time?
Is Park County's documentation in order and up to date?
To be clear this is a business and a residence. My concern is for the environment and life safety.
I thank you for your time and consideration.
Google Earth shots may assist you in your investigation.
Have you contacted the operator or party conducting the operation? If yes, please provide details.
r Yes r No
If known, please provide the name of the operator or party conducting the operation.
Park County Road and Bridge
If known, please provide the Permit or NOI Number(ie M-1970-111 or P-1970-111).
Must be entered in the following format: M1970111 or P1970111 (No dashes allowed)
M1977365
Have you contacted any other agencies or local governments related to this issue or issues? If so,
please provide details.
r Yes r No
Details
Colorado Parks and Wildlife for rodent and gopher infestation.
