6 (FORM 2 -Public filing)
8. Describe the estimated topsoil depth and how topsoil will be salvaged, stockpiled and redistributed for the re-establishment of
vegetation. Specify approximate topsoil redistribution depth:
Topsoil varies from 0.5 feet to 2 feet depending on location on site. Hilltops have less, and valley
bottoms ave more. Any top soil encountered uring surtace clisturbing exploration activities that are no
of the disturbed area. Any bedrock materials located below, will then be moved separately. Upon
completion of the exploration of the site, the bedrock materials will be replaced and any previously
stockpiled soils well be used as eover. The areas will then be Fevegetated as seen as practieel (less than
5 years) with the preferred time of seeding being in fall or spring to take advantage of seasonal moisture
and natural cycles to establish vegetation.
9. Describe how drill holes will be plugged(refer to Rule 5.4 of the Rules for required abandonment procedures):
Since no holes are anticipated to encounter groundwater, all drill holes will be securely
capped, in accordance with Rule 5.2.4 (5) ("securely capped as approved by this office")
and a report shall p filed with e office as required under Rule 5.7.
10. Describe how portals, adits, shafts, ponds, excavations,or other disturbances will be reclaimed(refer to Rule 3 and Rule 5 for
specific reclamation performance standards). You may wish to contact the Division for closure specifications.
No portals, shafts, ponds, or significant excavations are anticipated. If found to be
necessary, any drill pads that might be constructed on non-previously disturbed land will
be returned to approximately i i , will with i
by Soil Conserygtion Service nr PnainPPr if original mix is found to not hP availahlP_ Any
mud pits, if used, will be closed by pumping the cuttings and drill fluid into the drill hole,
and covered as part of the reclamation of the drill pad area. Any other new disturbances
will be treated in a manner similar to drill pa s.
11. Describe how roads will be reclaimed or returned to their pre-prospecting(or better)condition:
ExiStiAg roads and pre-voo u s- d istuirb-2 nc-e s- 2-re not part of the affe-cted aGreage, so will be
left in approximately their previous condition prior to exploration. Any roads that might be
constructed in newly disturbed areas will be reclaimed, topsoil replaced, and seeded with
an appropriate grass mix when no longer needed. s has been discussed above, only very
