Re: 2016 112c Annual Report—Nyholt Pit(aka Mann), Permit#M-1982-147
Dear DRMS:
The Nyholt(aka Mann) Pit was mined for several years by Mobile Pre-Mix/Lafarge. Lafarge ceased
mining operations in December of 2009. Adams County Parks accepted succession of operator in
December of 2009 and will continue to control noxious weeds at the site, establish native grasses and
complete required site reclamation. We have also been working to haul off the processed materials
from the site and currently have an estimated 20,000 tons of processed material on-site.
Early in 2017,Adams County parks and Open Space submitted a partial release request and release of
50.63 acres was granted by the Division on March 17, 2017 leaving a total of 258.07 acres within the
permit boundary(see attached map).
In 2017, Adams County and their water storage partners anticipate replacing both interconnect pipes
and also will start work on inlet and outlet structures necessary to bring the water storage vessels on-
line and make them fully operational. To do this a contractor will complete a breach and restoration of
the existing clay liners that had previously been approved by the State Engineer's Office.
Enclosed is a site map illustrating site work,weed mitigation and other work that was completed in
the 2016 calendar year and anticipated in 2017: Additionally, a check is enclosed in the amount of
$791.00 (Check No. 706757) intended to cover the annual fee for the 2016 reporting period.
