HART ENVIRONMENTAL
P.O. Box 1303 Boulder, Colorado 80306 phone: 303.444.6602
April 12, 2017
Mr. Eric Scott
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Colorado Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Technical Revision (DRM&S Permit # M-2008-082) Morton Lakes
Dear Eric:
Currently, RMCC is mining Stage 3 located east of the South Platte River. As
Stage 3 mining progressed this spring, RMCC became concerned that they may run
out of minable sand and gravel in Stage 3 before pit preparation is completed and
Stage 4 can be mined.
Therefore, RMCC is seeking DRMS approval for TR-004 by which the
company will mine approximately seven (7) acres of Morton Stage 6 (see attached
map). The portion of Stage 6 to be mined is located adjacent to and north of the
area of Stage 6 (A) previously mined under TR-003. Once mined this portion of
Stage 6 (B) will temporarily be used to stockpile processed sand and gravel on the
pit floor. The reclamation of Stage 6 will remain unchanged, namely developed
water storage.
Enclosed with this letter please find the following:
1. Request for Technical Revision (TR) Cover Sheet;
2. An Overview of the requested TR;
3. Exhibit "D" with notes related to the requested TR;
4. A check (#5207) in the amount of$216.00 for the required TR fee.
If you have any questions regarding this requested Technical Revision,please
do not hesitate to call me at (303) 444-6602.
Sincerely,
Michael J.
