0
"HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD"
to permit only 68.44 acres. CPW was informed at the time of request that 'Phase Mining'
would be the method of mining and that each phase would range between 10-15 acre phases.
It has since been decided to break the phases up to nit exceed 9.9 acres. CPW was informed
that the entire permitted land (68.44 acres)would not be open at the same time. CPW is aware
that the entire permit will exceed 15 acres and are aware that close to 70 acres will be affected
over the life of the mine
Wildlife that currently are found on this property include the following: Mule Deer,Antelope,
Elk(Fall/Winter Season) and Migrating Geese(Fall Season Late October/ Early November)
Threatened and/or Endangered species are not present on the requested land to be permitted
General effect to the habitats during mining operations to continue to be limited in that typical
mining season differs from the seasons the wildlife is presence. With current mining operations
all the stated above species are still presence and noise does not seem to threat or effect the
lifestyle. With the use of phase mining—migration routes, migration habits and general habitat
are not affected. With after mining operations resulting in rangeland/cropland this will only
enhance the habitat and living quality of the species listed above.
Exhibit I — Soils Information
Topsoil on the site consists of a 6-8" layer of brown loam, 24" layer of subsoil overlying the
layer of rock and gravel of various sizes.
