0
"HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD"
Rates given are for broadcast seeding. If area to be drilled, divide the rate by 2. Seed
depth of%"-3/4". Proposed time to be seasonal.
*Stated above-each phase will be mined 2-3 acres at a time with 2-3 acres of the phase
being reclaimed prior to moving on. Once section is mined out it will take an estimated
time of 3 months to grade, 3 months to topsoil, 3 months to seed and 3 months of
monitoring-Section to have minimum of two (2) growing seasons from when
reclamation is complete.
*Application of seed to be in the fall season— Between September 1 through October 31
(2-Month Period)
(e) Phase mining plan will insure that areas that have been recently mined will be re-shaped
and reclaimed to a majority prior to the mining operation moving on. As mentioned
earlier, Duran & Pearce Contractors (Operator) will being using the extracted aggregate
for private use only and will not sell the product commercially. Depending on the
demand for the product, more acreage could be potentially mined per year compared to
others. In the past 25 years that the Martin Pit 1-A has been permitted under the 110
Permit, only 7-8 acres has been extracted and reclaimed.
a. An estimated 2-3 years will be required for the various stages or phases of
reclamation
b. Each area shall not be any larger than 9.9 acres (Active mining, processing areas
and unreleased reclamation) before the reclaiming process begins. The location
of the operation will move from the current pit to the east to the property line
(staying necessary distance from fence line) and will then continue to the north
as indicated on the maps in Exhibit C.
c. The sequence of reclamation as follows: re-shape and re-grade mine area and
affected area using stockpiled overburden, establish any and all drainage, final
grade, install and shape 6-8" topsoil, broadcast seed and revegetate.
(f) Description
a. The maximum anticipated slope gradient during final grading step to be NO
greater than 3:1. The existing land and contour is not steep, rather the land is
fairly flat. Final grading to match existing land which maybe close to a 6:1 slope.
(g) -Range land: Sharp's Dryland Pasture Mix Application: 30-35bs/Acre
(h) -Cropland: Hard-white Winter Wheat(Variety Snow mass) Application:
65lbs/Acre
6
