I guess the question posed to Katie and myself had to do with the condition and content of the soils planned for use in the reclamation of the Colona gravel pit, located south of town on Hwy 50 and Vernal Rd. Based on soil test results provided for the Colona Pit and Haldorson Pit, we see no limitations of these soils as a medium for use in the establishment of the dryland seed mix. We also discussed the need for adding fertilizer or other soil amendments. At this point we don't see a need for adding any nutrients to the soil based on soil test results and requirements of the plants used in the dryland seed mix.
