INTRODUCTION
The proposed Cottonwood Pass Pit is located approximately 6.9 miles northwest of Tincup, CO
in Gunnison County. The Cottonwood Pass Pit is designed to be used as a sand and gravel source
for the Cottonwood Pass Road project (FHA #CO FLAP 209(1)); therefore this application is for
a Special Operations 111 reclamation permit. The permit boundary is shown on Map E-1. The
site before mining was rangeland and thus will be reclaimed to rangeland. The depths of
excavation will be roughly 10-15 feet. Topsoil is expected to range from 0-8 inches.
The site is bordered on the north, west, and east by forests; and to the south by Cottonwood Pass
Road. The property lines are shown on Map A-1.
The permittee for this site is Oldcastle SW Group dba United Companies, who has a lease or a
right of entry with the land and mineral rights owners. The right of entry information is included
in Exhibit G.
Map A-1 shows the general location of the Cottonwood Pass Pit.
Cottonwood Pass 2/28/2017 i-1 Greg txwidd and Associates, Ptdd:
