INTRODUCTION <br />The proposed Cottonwood Pass Pit is located approximately 6.9 miles northwest of Tincup, CO <br />in Gunnison County. The Cottonwood Pass Pit is designed to be used as a sand and gravel source <br />for the Cottonwood Pass Road project (FHA #CO FLAP 209(1)); therefore this application is for <br />a Special Operations 111 reclamation permit. The permit boundary is shown on Map E-1. The <br />site before mining was rangeland and thus will be reclaimed to rangeland. The depths of <br />excavation will be roughly 10-15 feet. Topsoil is expected to range from 0-8 inches. <br />The site is bordered on the north, west, and east by forests; and to the south by Cottonwood Pass <br />Road. The property lines are shown on Map A-1. <br />The permittee for this site is Oldcastle SW Group dba United Companies, who has a lease or a <br />right of entry with the land and mineral rights owners.
