The aerial inspection was conducted by Harry Ranney of
the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division). The inspection was conducted on March 30, 2017,
no company representative was present for the inspection. The weather was clear with a high temperature of 67
degrees farenheight. The aerial inspection focused on the er osion at Gob Piles #1, #2 and #4.
SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
The aerial photographs taken during the inspection show that erosion on the face of the #1, #2 and #4 Gob
Piles (Photo 1) has slowed and remained similar what was observed in the February 2017 inspections . The main
area of concern on the face of the #4 pile appeared to be mostly dry at the time the photo was taken (Photo 2). The
main section that has eroded is just above ditch D-D9 (outlined in the red square in Photo 2). The eroded material
is sub-soil that was placed and spread on top of Gob Pile #4 in 2016. The erosion has crossed the D -D9 ditch and
continues down the Face of Gob Pile #4. Below Gob Pile #4 is Gob Pile #1. The aerial photo shows that the
erosion has continued past the D-F18 ditch and flowed across Gob Pile #1 (outlined in the blue rectangle on Photo
2). The erosion crossing Gob Pile #1 appears to be captured in ditch D -F16. Water and sediment transported in
the D-F16 ditch discharges into Pond F. Below Ditch D-F16 is the old haul road and then Topsoil Stockpile D.
Please ensure that the erosion is captured in the D -F16 ditch and does not escape the ditch to ensure the
protection of Topsoil Pile D. Repairs to the face of Gob Piles is scheduled to occur when spring conditions allow
access for equipment to reach the site. Please see the Photographs section of this report for more details about the
erosion at the Gob Piles #1, #2 and #4.

DOCUMENTS RECEIVED: None
OTHER (SPECIFY): None
