The intent is to monitor ground water at the refuse/bedrock contact and alert the operator
to potential problems that could arise from accumulation of ground water. The
monitoring plan calls for recording depths to water for these sites on a quarterly basis.
Readings were taken March 25, May 27, June 27, and September 29, 2016. Weather
conditions precluded securing water elevation readings for late fourth quarter 2016. This
data is summarized in Table 1 following this report. No significant changes were noted at
any of the wells.
Surface and Groundwater Monitoring
Surface and Ground Water Monitoring is required for field parameters in the second
quarter and field and laboratory analysis in the fourth quarter. This data is summarized in
Table 2 following this report. This data was compared to the historical information
available in previous AHRs (see 2008 for best tabulation): All observed data fell within
the historical range for each parameter.
Comments
Field data for conductivity was not recorded for any of the sites in 2016 due to
conductivity probe malfunction. A new conductivity meter was ordered and will be
available for the 2016 sampling events.
The bailer for sampling depths greater than 60 feet (New 4) was unavailable for sampling
New 4 in 2016; thus only depth was recorded in 2016. Historically, New 4 has been very
similar in water quality to New 2. Data was obtained for New 2 in 2016. New Elk will
secure the needed equipment to resume sampling New 4 in 2017.
Tables, field notes, and laboratory reports are submitted as an appendage following this
letter report.
Please advise if me if additional information is needed.
Regards,
Ron Thompson
Consultant/Agent
