PERMIT #: M-1986-160 <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: SJM <br />INSPECTION DATE: February 21, 2017 <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety's (Division) normal <br />monitoring program. Photographs are included with this report in order to illustrate some of the conditions <br />observed. <br />The Sunnyside Pit is located approximately 35 miles east of Grand Junction and accessed from Hwy 330.The <br />site is a 110c operation that includes a total of 9.90 permitted acres with a maximum disturbance of 9.90 <br />acres. 8 acres have been disturbed. The Division currently holds a financial warranty amount of $27,646.00 for <br />this site. The Division has reviewed the reclamation costs, in order to ensure the financial warranty reflects the <br />actual current cost of fulfilling the requirements of the Reclamation Plan, and determined that the current <br />financial warranty amount is adequate. <br />Adequate mine identification signage was noted at the east entrance to the site. <br />The affected area was marked by fencing and post that were clearly visible and adequate to delineate the <br />affected area boundary. <br />Various stockpiles were located throughout the disturbed area. A scale house was located in the southeast <br />corner of the permit area near the entrance. No fuel is being stored on site.
