The tall dry <br />stalks of Elymus x stood out as <br />stabilizing vegetation. No <br />instability was noted. <br />o Topsoil piles observed were <br />marked appropriately. <br />o Observation of Phase 1 area <br />associated with SL 18 noted <br />some erosional rills near r eady <br />line area and along haul road. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />EXPLOSIVES – Rule 4.08 <br />o A coal blast was observed. All required blasting warnings were sounded as per the requirements <br />of rule 4.08. <br />o Blasting records were checked and no issues identified. <br /> <br />BACKFILL and GRADING – Rule 4.14 <br /> <br />Observed areas along haul road slated for the Phase I, SL18 release; some rilling existed <br />due to the recent and rapid snow melt. <br /> <br />AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION – Rule 4.17 <br />o No fugitive dust was observed. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE -Rule 4.18: <br /> <br />o Elk frequent the sight. Considerable activity of the Elk heard was noted although <br />no animals were observed. Raptors, blue birds and doves were also observed. <br /> <br />
