Geotechnical Stability Exhibit
W= (D/SDF)z
Where
W=weight in pounds of detonated explosive in any period greater than 8 milliseconds.
D=is distance in feet from the structure of concern
SDF=Scaled Distance Factor
As an example:
If a structure is 200 feet away from the blast site,the maximum amount of explosives per delay
is 16 pounds without the need for a seismograph.
As necessary, blasting data and information to be recorded may include the following:
a. Name of the operator conducting the blast;
b. Location, date, and time of blast;
c. Name, signature, and license number of blaster-in-charge;
d. Identification, direction and distance, in feet, from the nearest blast hole to the nearest
dwelling, school, church, or community or institutional building not located in the permit
area;
e. For surface blasts, weather conditions, including temperature,wind direction, and
approximate velocity;
f. Type of material blasted;
g. Sketches of the blast pattern including number of holes, burden, spacing, and delay
pattern;
h. Sketches shall also show decking, if holes are decked to achieve different delay times
within a hole;
i. Diameter and depth of holes;
j. Types of explosives used;
k. Total weight of explosives used per hole and maximum weight of explosives used per 8-
millisecond period;
I. Initiation system;
m. Type and length of stemming;
n. Mats or other protections used;
o. Type of delay detonator and delay periods used;
p. Number of persons in the blasting crew; and
q. Seismographic and air blast records, where required, including:
(1) Type of instrument, sensitivity, and the calibration signal of the gain setting or
certification of annual calibration;
(2) Exact location of instrument and the date,time and its distance from the blast;
(3) Name of the person and firm taking the reading;
(4) Name of the person and firm analyzing the seismographic record;
(5) The vibration and/or air blast level recorded;
r. Reasons and conditions for each unscheduled blast.
Wildcat Mining Corporation
112(d)Permit—May Day and Idaho Mine Application
Revised November 14,2014
Rule 6.5 Page 4 of 7
