The operator is in the process of
activating the Mine Safety and Health Administration(MSHA) mine identification number 05-
03674. \'lien activation has been approved mine site corrective actions will be implemented as
approved. Representative mine rock will be geochemically characterized to determine the
potential to be acid or toxic producing.
Work Plan
Representative channel samples will be obtained consisting of cuttings collected from a groove
cut into the rock about 4 inches wide and about an inch deep. The samples will be collected and
sent to the lab for assaying. In addition representative 30-50 pound bulk sampling will be
periodically conducted for laboratory purposes. Samples obtained after 5,000 tons of mined ore
will be tested as follows:
© NSIhole Rock Analysis: A representative sample will be crushed to approximately -400
mesh and analyzed by standard x-ray fluorescence (XRF) procedure for 31 major,
minor and trace elements. Testing will also include paste plVelectrical conductivity.
® Acid-Base Accounting: Representative samples will be crushed to -2% mesh and
analyzed for pH (1:1 rock: deionized water extract), Total Sulfur(high-temperature
furnace Combustion) and CaCO3 (digestion With hot acid, titration with NaOH).
(Sobek et. al., 1978);
o Short term leaching tests will be conducted to assess the presence of readily soluble
components using the synthetic precipitation leaching process(SPLP)(AS"I'M-6234);
112(d)Permit
May Day and Idalio Mine and Mill Application
M-1981-185
Revised -01.20.2017
Exhibit D—Rule 6.4.4 Page 10 of 13
