March 21, 2017 C-1981-018/Deserado Mine JDM <br />The D -Seam dewatering pond system was receiving water at the time of the inspection. Water was contained <br />within six cells associated with the system. All cells were holding water at the time of the inspection. A small <br />amount of discharge was noted at the time of the inspection. No problems were noted. <br />D -Seam Dewatering Ponds <br />Ditches and culverts throughout the mine site were stable and in some cases, functioning as designed during the <br />inspection. <br />PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11 Drainage Control; Surface <br />Stabilization; Placement: <br />Refuse Pile - 2/3/4 refuse was spread and compacted at the time of the inspection with a large stockpile yet to be <br />spread. Grading allowed good run-off to ponds. Refuse Pile - 5 was well compacted and stable at the time of the <br />inspection. Both sites showed good run-off to the ponds via the collection ditches with no rills or gullies identified <br />on the out slopes of the piles. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The paved Deserado Mine Road was well maintained and in good condition. The haul road from the facilities area <br />to the refuse disposal area was dry and stable with no problems noted. The conveyor corridor road, access roads <br />and light -use roads were in good condition with no problems noted. Evidence of dust suppression was noted on <br />the refuse haul road at the time of the inspection. <br />SUBSIDENCE — Rule 4.20: <br />The longwall was in the vicinity of county road 65 in LWP-14L at the time of the inspection. CR65 is to be <br />monitored when the longwall is approaching and leaving the area of the road. No surface cracks or areas in need <br />of repair were noted at the time of the inspection. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br />Page 5 of 8 <br />
