Veronica Cantrell '
11016 WCR 23
Ft Lupton,CO 80621
303-717-2237
RE: Application M-2016-085-Northern Colorado Constructors, Inc.-Bennett Pit-112c
RECEIVED
3/9/17 MAR 15 2017
DMSION OF RECLAMATION
Mr. Peter Hays MINING&SAFETY
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining&Safety-State of Colorado
1313 Sherman St. Room 215
Denver,CO 80203
Dear Mr. Peter Hays,
I would like to start by declaring that I am a "party" as described under the rules and regulations of the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board. I will be adversely affected by this proposed mining operation and
my interest is entitled to legal protection under the Act.
The intent of this letter is to submit written comments protesting the approval of the above-named application.
Please see the attached list of names, mailing addresses and telephone numbers of the interested parties as
required by the board.
I have viewed the above-named application submitted by J&T Consulting, Inc. and have the following
comments to share with you,Weld County Public Works and all involved parties listed.
The proposed gravel mining operation clearly shows trucks accessing the intersection of CR 23&24. Per Janet
Lundquist Support Services Manager-Weld County Public Works no application has been filed with her
department requesting this access. The application process is a requirement for any operation accessing a
Weld County road.
She further stated that an application for this intersection would cause the county to review current traffic
generation and perform a more in depth study.
Two neighbors whose homes were recently built near this intersection were denied permits for personal
driveways to enter their property. The reason for denial was directly related to the traffic volumes at this
intersection.
