Public Notice <br />Snowcap Coal Company, P.O. Box 1430, Palisade, CO 81526, has submitted an application for a Phase III <br />bond release to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety for its Roadside North Portal Mine, Mining <br />Permit No. C-1981-041. The permit was originally approved on January 3, 1983 and renewed on January 3, <br />2013. A corporate surety bond in the amount of $805,952.60 is currently in place, of which $18,822 is being <br />requested for release. The application is requesting the release of approximately 4.0 acres of reclaimed <br />surface lands at Snowcap Coal Company's Roadside North Mine. <br />The Roadside Mines are located approximately three miles northeast of Palisade, CO at the Interstate 70, <br />Cameo Exit No. 46. The specific areas to which this bond release request applies are included within the <br />Permit Boundary and are located as follows: <br />T10S, R98W, 6th P.M. <br />Section 27: Portions of S'/2SW% <br />Section 28: Portions of SE% <br />Reclamation work on these areas was performed from 2002 through 2015. Phase III release is being <br />requested on a portion of reclaimed CRDA #1, Substation G and Pond 11. Sufficient vegetation has been <br />established and sufficient work has progressed to implement the approved commercial/industrial postmining <br />land use. The lands are capable of supporting the postmining land use. All work has been performed in <br />accordance with plans approved by the Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety. <br />A copy of the bond release application is available for public inspection at the Mesa County Clerk and <br />Recorder's office, 200 S. Spruce, Grand Junction, CO. Copies of the approved permit application document, <br />as well as the bond release application, are available at the Denver office of the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety [Room 215, 1313 Sherman St., Denver, CO 80203, (303) 866-3567]. Written comments or <br />objections to the proposed release, and a request for a public hearing or informal conference may be <br />submitted to and additional information obtained from the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. <br />Comments, objections or requests for a public hearing or informal conference must be submitted to the <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety within thirty (30) days of the last publication of this notice or within <br />thirty (30) days of the completed bond release inspection, whichever is later. <br />
