3.0 RESULTS <br />3.1 2016 Phase II Bond Release Block <br />A total of 23 plant species were encountered within the Phase II Bond Release Block evaluated in <br />2016 (Table 1). Ground cover in the Phase II Bond Release Block (Chart 1 and Table 1) consisted of <br />64.56% live vegetation, 4.78% rock, 18.67% litter, and bare ground exposure of 12.0%. Desirable <br />perennial cover across the unit averaged 20.56%, with annual and biennial cover averaging 40.0% <br />absolute cover. Noxious weed cover was 4.0%. The dominant taxa were little barley (Criterion pusillum) <br />and fourwing saltbush (Atriplex canescens), with 15.78% and 7.78% average cover, respectively. <br />3.2 2016 Shadescale Reference Area <br />A total of 21 plant species were encountered within the Reference Area evaluated in 2016 (Table 1). <br />Ground cover in the Reference Area (Chart 1 and Table 1) consisted of 59.93% live vegetation, 24.10% <br />rock, 10.40% litter, and bare ground exposure of 5.57%. Desirable perennial cover across the unit <br />averaged 18.27%, with annual and biennial cover averaging 1.70% absolute cover. Noxious weed cover <br />was 39.97%.
