Ground water is believed to be 50-120 feet below the current surface. It will be exposed in the
active excavation pit, but nowhere else. Operations in the 1 10 permit never reached groundwater.
This is the alluvial river aquifer of the Platte River.
3_1 Existing Wells
Nearby wells that have been identified are located on Map C- 1, as best as possible using mapping
data from the Colorado Division of Water Resources. Since dewatering will not occur, no impact is
anticipated to the level of these wells.
4. Water Consumption for the Operation
Fairplay Au Pit will use water at approximately the annual rates shown below. Water will be either
via the placer rights the operator has on the Sacramento Ditch or leased water from a local
reservoir.
Table G-1 Mining Water Consumption
Annual Water Consumption
Dust control 2.5
Ac -ft
Processin_g_ 2.5
Ac -ft
_
Total 5
Ac -ft
Note: Processing in placer operations uses the water principally for its physical properties (density based separation,
moving material across the sluice, etc.). Most water that passes through processing is reused.
Fairplay Au Pit March 2017 C-2 . Gnjt., kkimdAiwisk%KtC
