Colorado Springs Utilities <br /> ,r's►m v re&V wrvwaee <br /> March 7,2017 FedEx Tracking No: 810030929672 <br /> Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety <br /> 1313 Sherman Street,Room 215 <br /> Denver,CO 80203 <br /> To Whom It May Concern, <br /> RE: M-1992-074,Clear Spring Ranch Gravel Pit No. 2 <br /> Colorado Springs Utilities herein submits the 2016-2017 annual report (Anniversary Date March 12, <br /> 2017), on your standard form and the attached Mining Plan map for the Clear Spring Ranch Gravel Pit <br /> No. 2 in accordance with Rule 1.15 of Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation <br /> Board for 112 Permits. All the required information is shown on the attached Mining Plan map. Payment <br /> for the annual fee of$791.00 is attached in the form of a check(Check No.267006). <br /> The current extent of the landfill was measured by performing a survey on March 2, 2017. During the <br /> twenty-fourth year of operation, 0.52 acres were newly affected. The total current affected area is 24.82 <br /> acres (including 3.99 acres that have been reclaimed,but are incomplete and/or unreleased reclamation). <br /> Approximately 4.26 acres are currently being actively mined in Phases 4, 5 and 6. Reclamation has <br /> occurred in the areas shown on the map; 3.99 acres have been top soiled, fertilized and reseeded. No <br /> additional acreage was reclaimed in 2016-2017, and there are currently no plans to reclaim additional <br /> acreage in 2017-2018. Construction debris has been used as backfill for approximately 3.82 acres of <br /> Phase 2; approval of construction debris as a backfill material was approved as Revision No. TR-3 of the <br /> mining permit in 2003,and was also approved by CDPHE in 2009. <br /> We anticipate that the enclosed report, check, and map meet your requirements.
