EXHIBIT J <br /> VEGETATION INFORMATION <br /> Introduction <br /> The permit area consists of mostly rangeland vegetation <br /> common to this area and river bottom having trees, brush and <br /> grasses commonly found along the Huerfano River. The overall <br /> property appears to have had a long history of agricultural use <br /> as a non-irrigated rangeland. The attached tables are from the <br /> soil survey report and show the typical vegetation types on the <br /> different soils within the mine area . <br /> 1 . Current cover percent is : 45 to 65% <br /> 2 . Topsoil depth on site averages : 0 to 5 inches <br /> 3 . Seeding dates recommended: October 15 to May 1 . <br /> 4 . Fertilizer, if needed: Phosphate C 40 lb/ac and nitrogen @ 40 lb/ac. <br /> 5 . The site is currently part of a terrace deposit above <br /> the Huerfano River located in a Loamy Plains range site unit <br /> north of Walsenburg, Colorado. It has no special or unique <br /> characteristics with mostly grass, cactus and sage brush covering <br /> the area . <br /> Vegetation Information <br /> The following vegetation types were observed and mapped on the site. <br /> Rangeland - Most of the acreage south of the drop off into the <br /> river and was used as range for grazing livestock. The <br /> vegetation consists of mostly grass with some cactus and <br /> sagebrush. Average annual production is approximately 900 pounds <br /> per acre on average .
