This report includes data from the C-Pit ponded water and related
groundwater monitoring for the fourth quarter of 2o16, covering the reporting period October 1, 2o16
to December 31, 2o16.Table 1 presents data for the last four quarters.
For the fourth quarter of 2o16, compliance monitoring, water samples were collected on November 8,
2o16 from CEM-oos and CEM 004 groundwater monitoring wells, and from the C-Pit ponded water.
The initial inspection of groundwater monitoring well CEM o05 on November 8, 2o16 and the follow
up inspection on November 21, 2016 indicated that there was not enough volume of water to collect a
representative sample.
The samples collected from C-Pit ponded water and groundwater wells were analyzed for pH,
chloride, sulfate, total dissolved solids, selenium, and thallium. The reported pH data is based on the
pH analysis performed at the time of sample collection in the field (Table 1). The measured pH at
groundwater monitoring well CEM-004 and analytical results for chloride, sulfate, total dissolved
solids(TDS), selenium and thallium from the November 8, 2016 groundwater sample were below the
target levels prescribed by TR-12, as shown in Table 1.
In addition, a Stiff Diagram, as shown in Fig. s, compares Both percentile and the average of the C-Pit
data with CEM 004 data during the quarter. This diagram indicates that the CEM 004 chemistry is
different from that of C-Pit.
"'I
