3. Outlet Section: <br />Spillway crest: 6 feet minimum overflow width; set crest 1 foot below crest of <br />embankment; lined with 2-4 inch size rock, 1 feet thick on base of <br />overflow underlain with 1 feet thick, V — 1" size washed gravel <br />Apron: Extend 2 to 4 inch size rock material with geotextile base <br />downstream beyond the overflow toe a minimum distance of 5 <br />feet. Keep the edges of the stone sections flush with the <br />surrounding ground surface, and shape the center to confine the <br />outflow stream in the rock -lined channel. <br />4. Trap Size: Size the sediment trap volume (depth below the gravel bedding on the <br />spillway crest) by computing the detention volume required for a 5 -year, 24-hour <br />design storm. Add an additional 1.5 feet of storage for sediment accumulation. <br />5.
