Section 01531 Environmental Safety and Worker Protection <br />PART 1 — GENERAL <br />1.1 SUMMARY <br />A. This Section covers environmental safety and worker protection including monitoring and <br />exposure to workers and providing an appropriate response. In addition to the <br />requirements under the Newmont Contractor Health & Policy Safety Program (attached <br />to the Contract), the following requirements will apply. In the case of conflict between <br />this section and the Contract, the more worker -protective portion will apply. <br />1.2 REFERENCES <br />A. Code of Federal Regulations <br />L 29 CFR 1910 (Occupational Safety and Health Standards). <br />2. 29 CFR 1926 (Safety and Health Regulations for Construction) (Construction <br />Industry Standards). <br />3. Other applicable State and Federal Regulations. <br />1.3 TRAINING <br />A. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) <br />1. Comply with all requirements under the Law. <br />1.4 CONTRACTOR HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br />A. Contractor shall prepare and provide Owner a site-specific written Health and Safety Plan <br />(HASP) for Contractor's employees, Subcontractors, Suppliers, and such other <br />individuals or entities performing or furnishing any of the Work, no later than 2 (two) <br />weeks prior to beginning Work. <br />1. The HASP shall address the procedures and methods that will be implemented to <br />ensure the safety of workers, the Owner, Owner's representatives, other site personnel <br />associated with the project, and the general public during the period of construction. <br />2. The HASP shall ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety <br />regulations regarding occupational health and safety applicable for the planned <br />construction activities. <br />3. The HASP shall include Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for each planned work <br />activity, and a requirement for documented daily tailgate safety meetings. <br />Environmental Safety & <br />Worker Protection February 2017 01531-1 <br />
