The application was deemed complete on December 16, <br />2016. RN -1 is proposing to continue surface coal mining and/or reclamation operations for the New Horizon <br />North Mine. <br />The Division finished its review of the RN -1 application and has the following questions and comments: <br />Application Form <br />On page 3 of the renewal application, the Affected area (in acres) is listed as 328.88 acres which is the <br />same as the permitted acres. Since there are areas, such as Meehan Draw, that are within the permit <br />boundary but are not proposed to be disturbed, the Affected acres should be less than the permitted <br />acres. Currently, the Division holds a bond for the reclamation of 202.9 acres which includes all areas <br />south of Meehan Draw and the equipment corridor. The permitted Affected acres listed in the <br />application should be 202.9 acres. Please update the application form. <br />2. On page 3 of the renewal application, the Disturbed area (in acres) is listed as 328.88 acres which is the <br />same as the permitted acres.
