AA Natural Soda LLC 2016 Project Status Report & Annual Plan of Development
' 4.1.4 Wells Associated With the NS Project (Confidential)
The following well-field related activities occurred in 2016: Refer to Figure 3 & Figure 4
Plant and Well Location Map.
• The 15H production well pair was drilled and completed in August 2016, and began
' producing in October 2016. Routine Mechanical Integrity Tests (MIT) Parts I & II
were completed pursuant to UIC stipulations.
' • The 15H-SSMW was drilled as a vertical subsurface subsidence monitor well to
provide long term subsurface subsidence monitoring during the production of the 15H
production well pair and the planned 16H production well pair.
i • The DS-4 monitor well was converted to a B-Groove monitor well and was renamed
BG-8.
• NS installed a liner hanger and screen filter in the 14H-R well between March 16th
and the 17th. A larger P270 pump, capable of 850 GPM was also installed in the
14H-R well during this operation.
• NS installed a liner hanger and screen filter in the 12H-R well between July 17th and
the 18th.
' • NS installed a liner hanger and screen filter in the 13H-R well between July 26th and
the 27th.
• Routine Mechanical Integrity Tests (MIT) Parts I & II were completed in the DVPW
casings in August 2016.
• In September the 11 H recovery pump malfunctioned due to a scaling issue. The
pump was pulled, and a new pump was installed which will allow the well to continue
flow recovery operations.
• The DS-6 ground water monitoring well was equipped with a nitrogen lift sampling
pump in September.
• In October the 7H-1 V recovery pump was removed, ending production on the retired
' 7H mining interval (last produced from during August 2015).
• The BG-8, and DS-7 ground water monitoring wells were equipped with nitrogen lift
sampling pumps in September and October.
' The current status of all wells associated with the NS Project is indicated in Table 3: List
and Status of Wells Associated with NS.
1 4.1.5 Other Activities
Continuous monitoring of proximal IDS aquifer monitor wells provided data for the
management of active production mining interval operations. Throughout the year,
injection and recovery rates were adjusted to maintain monitoring well water levels near
target zones.
