AA Natural Soda LLC 2016 Project Status Report & Annual Plan of Development 2.2 Leasehold Status ' The original four sodium leases were renewed by the BLM, in 2011 for a period of ten years. Annual rental and royalty payments have been submitted to the Mineral Management Service. The NS leases comprise approximately 8,379 acres. 3.0 Project Status 3.1 2016 Project Activities (Confidential) (See Figure 3 & Figure 4: Plant and Well Location Maps) ' In 2016 NS produced 236,103 tons of sodium bicarbonate. This product was produced from the 8H, 1 OH, 11 H, 12H, 13H, 14H, 15H, and DVPW mining intervals. Routine boil outs were performed in 2016. Various short shut-downs were required for routine ' maintenance, equipment repair and/or replacement. 3.1.1 Items of Significance (Confidential) ' • The 15H production well pair was drilled and completed in August 2016, and began producing in October 2016. ' • The 15H-SSMW was drilled as a vertical subsurface subsidence monitor well to provide long term subsurface subsidence monitoring during the production of the 15H production well pair and the planned 16H production well pair. • The NS LLC EPA Underground Injection Control (UIC) area permit was updated and submitted for reissue in 2014. The EPA UIC area permit was ' reissued January 29, 2016. • NS installed a Pulsar Weather Station in February 2016 to improve ' monitoring and recording of weather in the vicinity of the plant. • The DS 4 monitor well was converted to a B-Groove monitor well and was renamed BG-8 (DS-4) per BLM approval. • In 2016 NS conducted a raptor breeding activity survey and inventory in the pinion-juniper habitat that was near the planned 2016 and 2017 well field ' development areas.
