PERMIT#: M-2016-070
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS:ECS
INSPECTION DATE: February 2,2017
OBSERVATIONS
This was a pre-operation inspection for the 112c Crossland Pit permitted by Yuma County. The inspection was
conducted by Eric Scott of DRMS who met Yuma County representative Don Marr and his crew on-site at
approximately 11:00 on February 2, 2017. The site is accessed from the east side of County Road V,
immediately south of the intersection of County Road V and County Road 55.
The Crossland Pit is permitted as a dry, 43 acre sand and gravel pit. The current and proposed post-mining
land use is rangeland and the area is currently utilized for cattle grazing by the landowner. Representative
pre-mining condition photos of the area have been included on page 3 of this report. The notice of proposed
mining operation was observed at the access road to the site (Photo 1). The mine identification sign will need
to be placed at the site entrance as required by rule as soon as the permit is issued.
DRMS observed the permit boundary markers during this investigation which were steel posts. DRMS
collected for the permit corner markers to verify the submitted mapping. DRMS plotted the permit boundary
as currently marked, and has attached a figure showing the current configuration to this inspection report
No other issues were noted during this inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
Don Marr-Yuma County
1310 South Blake St.
Wray,CO 80758
Enclosure—google earth map
