EXHIBIT H
Wildlife Information
A mined land wildlife questionnaire was included in the June 16, 2004 Revised 112 Reclamation
Permit Application for this site and is unchanged for this amendment. The permit application
also included a wildlife resources assessment that was performed in 2004 by a qualified
biologist. The assessment concluded that the project site lacked potential breeding or critical
winter habitat for any federally listed threatened or endangered species. The assessment further
concluded that a few species would be displaced over the short-term during mining operations,
while long-term alteration of the habitat from agricultural to open water pond habitat would
favor aquatic species and discourage terrestrial species.
Mining operations are complete, and therefore local wildlife is expected to begin reestablishing
themselves. The replacement of open water ponds with lined reservoirs will continue to favor
aquatic species, and the reservoirs are anticipated to provide valuable habitat to waterfowl and
migratory birds.
Duckworth Pit
DRMS 112 Permit Amendment
Page 10
