may affect the Southfield Permit is obtained and verified, EFCI will work closely with the
MLRD to evaluate and address future permitting requirements and scheduling.
While the mine was actively operating, the total permit area encompassed approximately
2,735.6 acres. This total included approximately 2,713.7 acres in the mine area and 21.9
acres in the loadout area. As described in previous sections, the mine is now in
reclamation only status. Final bond release has been approved for the vast majority of
the mine site area and for all of the loadout area. Through approved revision to the
permit, the permit area at the mine site now encompasses approximately 1.15 acres.
