Box 1488 <br />Paonia, CO 81428 <br />RE: Bowie No. 2 Mine, Permit No. C-1996-083 <br />4'h Quarter 2016 Discharge Monitoring Reports Review (CO -0044776) <br />Dear Mr. Bear, <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division) has finished its <br />review of the 2016 4" Quarter Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs). The reports were <br />received on; November 8, 2016 (October report), January 30, 2017 (November report) <br />and January 24, 2017 (December report). The DMRs were submitted via email to the <br />Division. The reports cover the time period of; October 1 to October 31, November I to <br />November 30, and December 1 to December 31. The Division finds the reports to be in <br />compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2). <br />During the months of October, November and December of 2016, Outfall 004A <br />discharged. There were no exceedances recorded at this location. Although it was noted <br />in November that 004A had a fecal coliform of>4,000 cfu/100m1. The average 30 day <br />limit for the permit is 6,000 cfu/100ml. A chart was presented in the November DMRs to <br />show that the value for November was anomalous. The highest value recorded in 2016 <br />other than November was in December, with a value of 212 cfu/100m1. Outfalls 001A <br />and 005A discharged during the month of December only. There were no exceedances <br />recorded. No other outfalls discharged during the 4'h quarter. <br />This concludes the Division's review of the 41h Quarter 2016 Discharge Monitoring Reports for <br />the Bowie No. 2 Mine.
