There is one upper facies hole with water (22-3U). 22-3U is a newer hole constructed in <br />the fourth quarter of 2005 for baseline and monitoring purposes of future mining activities. <br />Water levels in this well appeared stable over the past year with an indicated rise of only <br />0.1 feet. Data for this well and other wells are shown in Appendix C. <br />Well 29-4U was subsided in early 2013. A blockage resulted at 309.2 feet. It is expected <br />that this well would have reported as being dry even if no blockage had occurred. <br />The water level in 33-8U decline with a drop of 1.3 feet from the prior year. This drop is <br />potentially due in part to the close proximity to the mine. The water level now stands at <br />275.3 feet, comparable to that of 33-8M which also showed a decline of 1.3 feet since last <br />year. Historically these wells fluctuated similarly. <br />The middle "siltstone-coal facies" monitoring holes are designated by an "M" following the <br />hole number. These monitor holes are open through the interval containing the D Seam <br />and B Seam. <br />Monitoring hole 22-3M was drilled in November 2006 and is now the 'point of compliance'. <br />Depth to water data is included in Appendix D and annual qualitative data presented in <br />Appendix C. This hole has exhibited a very slow artesian flow from 2007 through 2012. <br />The flow rate ranged from 150 ml/minute in 2010 to 13.2 ml/minute in 2012. The artisan <br />flow has now stopped and the water level has dropped to 18.1 feet, 4.8 feet lower than <br />last year. <br />Monitor hole TW2-17M was surrounded by mining first in November 1985 but was not <br />intercepted in the workings. It is apparently located in a pillar completely surrounded by <br />open workings. At that time it showed virtually no response to development mining. In <br />February 1988 Iongwall panel 1 was mined to within about 900 feet of this hole. <br />Obviously, Iongwall mining disrupts the mined zone more than development mining, and <br />the water level in TW2-17M did show a response to mining at that time. The water level <br />generally decreased since 1988 with a rise of 2.4 feet since the last monitoring period. <br />This rise may be associated with the long term rising waterline within the D -seam <br />workings. However, the water level has decreased due to pumping during this water year <br />indicating the response is slow and connectivity is limited. <br />Monitoring Hole 29-4M was plugged in November 2012 to eliminate connection with the <br />sealed off portion of the mine. <br />The water level in Hole 30-8M was confirmed dry at 464.5 feet. This is the same <br />elevation as last year. The prior four years of measurements may have been showing <br />I. <br />
