PERMIT#: M-2016-074
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE:January 25,2017
OBSERVATIONS
This was a pre-operation inspection for the 110c Laybourn Pit permitted by Washington County. The
inspection was conducted by Eric Scott of DRMS who met Washington County representative Steve Williams
on-site at approximately 11:30 on January 25, 2017.
The Laybourn Pit is permitted as a dry, 9.9 acre, 110c permit. The current and proposed post-mining land use
is rangeland. Representative pre-mining condition photos of the area have been included on page 3 of this
report. Although the notice of proposed mining operation was observed at the access road to the site (Photo
1), the mine identification sign was not present. As stated on the first page of this inspection report, the mine
identification sign will need to be placed at the site entrance as required by rule and photo documentation
submitted to DRMS by February 28, 2017.
DRMS observed the permit boundary markers during this investigation which were steel posts with red
painted tops. Washington County provided DRMS with GPS coordinates for the permit markers. DRMS
plotted the permit boundary as currently marked, and has attached a figure showing the current configuration
to this inspection report. It should be noted that the permit boundary as currently marked encompasses only
approximately 8.8 of the permitted 9.9 acres allowed.
No other issues were noted during this inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
Steve Williams
Washington County
11920 Co.Rd.
