➢ Completion of infrastructure modifications and upgrades (SWMD Thickener Underflow Borehole and
Pipeline (permitted but not yet initiated), 6MN Compressor Building, Fish Creek Borehole Flocculant
System, additional 10 -Rt Pipeline, Washplant modifications, and Haulroad B-1 modifications)
Cleanup and reclamation of disturbed area associated with coal fines discharge at Fish Creek Borehole
➢ Ongoing construction of support infrastructure for the Wolf Creek Reserve (9 -East Utility Borehole and
Air Vent Blower Boreholes)
➢ Completion of feasibility evaluation and preliminary design for passive water treatment system, and
ongoing permitting work for fixture Wolf Creek mine dewatering
➢ Completion of work on inter -seam ventilation borehole (underground)
i Several sedimentation ponds were dredged to remove accumulated sediment as part of our ongoing
drainage maintenance program
➢ Repair of Run -of -Mine Stacking Tube
➢ Progressive replacement of fluorescent lights with LED lighting to reduce energy use, and recycling of
used "green -tip" fluorescent bulbs
Drainage basin level water quality and aquatic life study to support water discharge permit renewals and
future discharge permitting
During 2015, TC contracted with X -Field Services to complete late season temporary stabilization or
supplemental reclamation seeding for a number of mine disturbance areas. Unfortunately, heavy early snowfall
precluded effective seeding, so these activities were deferred and subsequently completed in 2016. A listing of
the areas seeded and copies of seed tags are included in this submittal.
Under our ongoing noxious weed control program, TC contracted with Hedges Spraying to complete noxious
weed control spraying for both active and bond -released areas (approximately 100 acres), consistent with the
approved Noxious Weed Control Plan (MR06-206). Areas sprayed for weeds are shown on the 2016 Annual
Reclamation Map, and/or listed as follows (spot or area spraying, as appropriate):
• Substations (sterilize inside fencing and 25 feet out from fence), electrical installations, propane
storage areas, and surface conveyors
• Both sides (approximately 30 to 40 feet) of facility roads
• Topsoil piles
• FaciIity pad areas (e.g. I ORT, 6MN, 18RT, 15LT, 16LT, 18LT)
• Select areas on CRDA and associated soil/cover material stockpiles
• Pond embankments and perimeters
• Recent reclamation areas
• Exploration corehole drill -sites and associated roads
• Any new excavation disturbance areas
The spring spraying program (May -June) focused on spot or area spraying for control of white -top (hoary cress),
houndstongue, and knapweed, using 2,4-D, Escort, and LV -6. The fall spraying program (Septernber-October)
focused on control of thistle, any residual weeds, and toadflax, which had previously been found on the site only
as small, isolated occurrences, using 2,4D in combination with Tordon, Telar, and Milestone. Spraying was also
conducted during the spring, within and around electrical installations, conveyors, and propane storage areas
using GlyStar + (a gencric Roundup substitute), Throttle, and Dxcamba to eliminate all vegetation, as a fire -
safety and MSHA consideration. As part of our ongoing land management prograrns, TC conducted managed
livestock grazing activities (approximately 2,000 steers) on the bond -released areas.
There are several areas on the attached "2016 Annual Reclamation Report Disturbed Acreage" summary that are
identified as "Reclaimed". These areas have previously been regraded and stabilized with vegetation, however,
TC has not pursued bond release for these areas due to the potential for re -disturbance in conjunction with
required access and site maintenance activities.
