3.2 West Mine Reveaetation <br />The West Mine Unit is approximately 13.7 acres in extent (Mapl). Ground cover consisted of <br />62.5% live vegetation, 5.0% rock, 24.5% litter, and bare soil exposure of 8.0% (Table 2). Perennial <br />species exhibited an average cover of 53.9% and a relative cover of 86.3%. Annual and biennial species <br />exhibited an average cover of 6.9% and a relative cover of 11.1%. Noxious weeds exhibited average <br />cover of 1.7%, and a relative cover of 2.7%. Dominant taxa were alfalfa (Medkago sativa), cicer <br />milkvetch (Astragalus cicef), and thickspike wheatgrass (Elymus lanceolatus var. 1) with an average <br />cover of 17.5%, 12.8%, and 11.9% respectively. With regard to diversity, the West Mine unit exhibited <br />two native, perennial herbaceous species with between 3% and 60% relative cover, two native cool - <br />season perennial grass species with between 3% and 60% relative cover, zero native forb species with <br />between 3% and 60% relative cover, and a total of four native shrubs. <br />3.3 Run of Mine Reveaetation <br />The Run of Mine Unit is approximately 10.7 acres in extent (Maps). Ground cover consisted of <br />54.4% live vegetation, 6.5% rock, 26.3% litter, and bare soil exposure of 12.8% (Table 2). Perennial <br />species exhibited an average cover of 49.5% and a relative cover of 91.1%. Annual and biennial species <br />exhibited an average cover of 4.8% and a relative cover of 8.8%. Noxious weeds exhibited average <br />cover of 0.1%, and a relative cover of 0.2%. Dominant taxa were thickspike wheatgrass, cicer milkvetch, <br />and small burnet (Sanguisorba mino6 with an average cover of 14.3%, 11.7%, and 6.5% respectively. <br />With regard to diversity, the Run of Mine Unit exhibited three native, perennial herbaceous species with <br />between 3% and 60% relative cover, three native cool -season perennial grass species with between 3% <br />and 60% relative cover, zero native forb species with between 3% and 60% relative cover, and a total of <br />three native shrubs. <br />CEDAR CREEK ASSOCIATES, INC.
