For Phase III
bond release, the approved revegetation success standards for productivity and species diversity are
those that existed in the permit at the time of permit revocation and bond forfeiture. For productivity,
the standard is 1300 pounds of air-dried herbaceous forage per acre. For species diversity, the
standard is "at least 3 cool season perennial grass species, each contributing a minimum of 3%
relative cover". Forbs were additionally required to achieve "at least 4% relative cover, with no
single species contributing greater than 50% relative cover".
Sampling Protocols for Revegetation Success Determinations
This section discusses sampling protocols, presenting data and graphics illustrating how well the site
met the required permit standards with respect to its post -mining land use of rangeland and wildlife
habitat. The vegetation sampling protocol, methods of collection, and data analysis followed by
DRMS during the 2015 and 2016 seasons are presented in this section. Methods followed assured
repeatable, unbiased estimate of the parameters as per Rule 4.15.11. Double sampling was
OHIO CREEK TERMINATION OF JURISDICTION DEC 2016 13
AUTHOR: R.
