Amendment to the Elrick Pit (M-1997-015)
In response to previous findings by the Department of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, two changes are
proposed as amendments to the mining plan of the Elrick Pit.
1) The addition of a new access road running from Co. Rd. 40 north to the south edge of Surveyor
Creek and the 15.0 -acre addition approved in 2013. The roadway is 1475' in length and 15' wide. This
will be an addition of 0.5 acres. The new access road is shown on the accompanying amendment
maps. This roadway will be reclaimed by seeding in the same manner as the rest of the pit when
mining is completed.
2) The road across Surveyor Creek will only be used when the conditions are dry and allow a
crossing. The south bank of Surveyor Creek will be re-established at a slope of 3:1.
