I. PROCEDURES AND SUMMARY OF THE REVIEW PROCESS Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL) applied for partial Phase I bond release under the Colorado Surface Coal Mining and Reclamation Act following reclamation of the Bowie No. 2 Mine. The mine is located in Delta County, in all or portions of the following: Township 13 South, Range 92 West of the 6th P.M. The total approved disturbed acreage of the Bowie No. 2 Mine is 404.22 acres and the total approved affected area is 7,051.01 acres. The Bond Release Application No. 2 (SL-02) represents the second bond release application processed by the Division. Submittal of Bond Release Application and Completeness Determination by the Division The Division received BRL’s bond release application SL-02 on September 13, 2016. The initial SL-02 application included 33 drill sites and six roads representing 12.27 acres eligible for Phase I bond release. Phase I bond release was also initially requested for 11.9 acres of backfilled and regraded lands on Gob Pile #1 and Gob Pile #2.
