The Bear Mine permit was revoked on 6/6/2013.
The weather was overcast and cold, with snow on the ground.

HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The North Fork of the Gunnison River was frozen over. The USGS stream gauge was not recording data.
The sinuous channel was mostly snow-covered, but in a few spots the tea colored water from the seep could be
seen. There was no evidence of water ponding anywhere else on the site.

GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
A sturdy gate had been installed at the western end of the bridge, with a covered padlock.
The reclamation of the site had been completed for the most part, and McCollum’s had demobilized their
equipment. Jeff Litteral reported that the project had been placed on ‘suspend’ in order that prescribed tree
planting could be postponed until the spring, when the trees would stand a better chance of survival.

SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
Smoke/steam was visible from the slide scarpe, but there was no evidence of any recent slide activity.

DOCUMENTS RECEIVED
N/A
OTHER (SPECIFY)
N/A
