(SCC) applied to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining,
and Safety (CDRMS) for partial Phase II and Phase III bond release (SL -09) on their Roadside
Portals project. The Roadside Portals project is located in Mesa County, approximately three
miles northeast of Palisade, Colorado. The SL -09 application was received by DRMS on August
15, 2016. It was deemed complete on September 15, 2016. SCC notified the public, all interested
parties, and all interested government agencies. A bond release inspection was conducted on
October 6, 2016 by CDRMS, and the Office of Surface Mining, Reclamation, and Enforcement.
GJFO has reviewed the bond release application No. 9 for the Roadside Portals project and
concurs with the CDRMS decision to partially release bonding related to Phase II and Phase III
reclamation. This will reduce the current liability by $97,202.20, leaving a remainder of
$45,321.40. Reclamation is considered to be complete on 22.7 acres, leaving 17.4 acres of
disturbance still covered by the remaining liability. The specific area of the proposed bond
release request applies to:
T10S, R98W; portions of Sections 27, 28, and 34;
If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact Eric Eckberg at (970) 244-3077.
Sincerely,
On,.4 3
Wayne Werkmeister
Field Manager
