PERMIT #: M-2005-021
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: SJM
INSPECTION DATE: October 19, 2016
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety's (Division) normal
monitoring program. Photographs are included with this report in order to illustrate some of the conditions
observed.
The Anderson Pit is located approximately 3 miles northeast of Delta and accessed from Hwy 92.The site is a
112c operation that includes a total of 161.86 permitted acres with a maximum disturbance of 55 acres. The
Division currently holds a financial warranty amount of $230,100.00 for this site. The Division has reviewed the
reclamation costs, in order to ensure the financial warranty reflects the actual current cost of fulfilling the
requirements of the Reclamation Plan, and determined that the current financial warranty amount is
adequate.
Adequate mine identification signage was noted at the east entrance to the site.
The affected area was marked by fencing and roads that were clearly visible and adequate to delineate the
affected area boundary.
Pit excavation is currently in the Phase 1 area, progressing into Phase 2. A dewatering trench is located on the
west and north sides of the pit and water is conveyed to settling pond in the northwest corner of the permit
area. Various stockpiles were located throughout the disturbed area. A ready mix batch plant and scales are
located in the southeast corner of the permit area near the entrance.
Fuel is being adequately stored with secondary containment. A water truck was in use for dust suppression.
No other problems or violations were noted during this inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Stephanie Mitchell at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, phone number (970) 242-5025.
