MANAGEMENT
On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL) enclosed is an application for a technical revision to
reduce the frequency of VWP and Inclinometer monitoring at gob piles two and three.
BRL went into temporary cessation during February 2016. Since that time, BRL has been
processing its remaining coal stockpiles and hauling waste to the gob piles on an intermittent
basis.
Over the last eleven years since the VWPs and Inclinometers have been installed, movement
and pressure readings have been fairly consistent and have not indicated the potential for
instability of either pile. Currently, VWPs and Inclinometers are monitored every quarter.
However, with the decreased production of coal mine waste, reducing the frequency to the
second and third quarters would be a practical step to continuing to monitor the stability of
the gob piles while recognizing the significant decrease in gob placement and therefore the
decrease in potential for negative impacts to stability of the gob piles.
When the mine resumes production, monitoring would then recommence on a quarterly basis.
The following changes are part of this revision application;
-4* Volume IX, Pages 20-21
m6 Volume XI, Pages 10-11.
