These
photos were reviewed by Rob Zuber of DRMS on December 6, 2016. The weather was clear. The ground was
mostly covered with snow at King I and partially covered at King II.
EXCESS SPOIL and DEVELOPMENT WASTE – Rule 4.09
Placement; Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization:
No erosion, slumps, or other problems were seen on the Refuse Pile except for rills on the lower portion, northeast
of the shop bench. Per GCC staff, this problem is on the maintenance list (this project will include reseeding).

HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
At the King I Mine, the East Pond and the West Pond were inspected. Both ponds were holding snow, ice, and/or
water but not appear to be discharging. No significant problems were seen with embankments.

At the King I Mine, all ditches appear stable, and no other issues were seen with the surface water control system.
There does appear to be a mapping error with Reach 6 (which should be addressed when maps are next updated).
Map King I-007 shows Reach 6 extending through the Temporary Plant Growth Medium Storage Area; that is not
correct.

All King II ditches appear stable. The King II pond contained very little water and did not appear to be
discharging. No issues were found with the embankment.
