� Reclamation <br />There is a high degree of uncertainty as to the quantity of product that will <br />be removed from the pit in the future. Since the early seventies, and <br />specifically when operations began anew in 1995, only 1890 cubic yards of <br />product have been sold (Table 3). This averages 90 yards yearly. There was <br />a 19 year hiatus (1997-2016) that distorts the average. When the small <br />quantities mined are combined with the long periods of time between <br />operations of the pit, it becomes challenging to manage reclaiming the pit. <br />The uncertainty may be due to a highly variable demand for product from <br />this pit. We will present a plan with multiple options that should allow the <br />operator to adapt to changing conditions. <br />It should be noted that this pit does provide access to a product that is <br />relatively hard to obtain in western Moffat County. The closest pit that may <br />provide a similar stone product in hardness and size is located near Maybell <br />Colorado, a distance of 54 miles using Hwy 40. While demand is low and <br />sporadic, the product may have value. We should state that the stone on the <br />western portion of the pit is compressed sandstone while the eastern portion <br />is dominated by a conglomerate. <br />One should keep in mind that the State of Colorado does have specific <br />administrative regulations that govern periods of inactivity and the <br />responsibilities of the permit holder. Periods of inactivity may illicit actions <br />by the state that will impact the ability to economically operate the pit. The <br />operator/owner should become familiar with the regulations.
