N <br />X <br />The eastern portions of the hill drain southeast onto the flat gravely storage <br />area or northward into the undisturbed natural terrain. Water puddles on the <br />flats of the storage area and run off is further slowed by the strips of <br />sagebrush and other vegetation. On the westerly portions of the hill water <br />drains into the currently mined area and is prevented from moving farther by <br />a berm (Photo 6). We have observed one fairly heavy rainfall on the pit on <br />Monday, Oct 3, 2016. <br />Photo 6. The base of the berm is marked by a yellow line. <br />Current Reclaim <br />In late September (2016) the owner/operator of the Powell Gravel Pit made <br />the decision to reclaim approximately 1.1 acre. The reclaim concentrated on <br />the eastern portions of the hill where terraces of overburden were left from <br />the mining in the 60's and 70's. See Maps 8 and 9 for an approximate <br />location. <br />On October 6, 2016 heavy equipment from W.C. Striegel, Inc. Rangely, <br />Colorado began working.
