The weather was clear with the ground frozen and snow covered at <br />the time of the inspection. No mine related activities were on-going during the inspection. The site remains idle <br />with no reclamation activities being conducted. The Bowie No. 1 Loadout continues to serve as a storage/lay- <br />down area used by Bowie Resources, LLC for the Bowie No. 2 Mine. This partial inspection focused on the area <br />of the West Mine. The Division is currently reviewing TR-62 and PR-5 associated with the Bowie No. 1 Mine. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring <br />4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, <br />4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />All ditches at the West Mine designed to convey run-off from the reclaimed slopes to the ponds were stable with <br />no problems noted. <br /> <br />Ponds W-1, W-2, and the Timber Storage Pond were stable with no problems noted. All ponds were dry with a <br />small amount of snow cover. No evidence of recent discharge was noted.
