6.4.9 Exhibit I
Soils Information
Soil series within the mining area of the proposed permit boundary include
Cascajo, Manvel and Bacid soil series. All three soil series are well drained loam
soils. The top four (4) to 10 inches are silty or sandy loam. This loam may extend
to depths of five (5) feet. Cascajo is the gravelly soil composing the mesas, the
target reserve. The following soil series descriptions were obtained from the National
Resource Conservation Service website.
Annual range production in a normal climatic year ranges from 720 pounds
per acre per year on Cascajo soil to 800 pounds per acre per year on Bacid soil. The
Range Production diagram follows.
NRCS soil series description prints are provided for all soils within the permit
boundary including both haul roads.
i
13
Revised October 3, 2016
