RULE 2 - PERMITS <br />Within the PSCM permit area, groundwater from the overburden and coal units is sodium <br />fe bicarbonate type, generally with moderate total dissolved solids (TDS) concentrations <br />(600 to 900 milligrams per liter [mg/L]) and alkaline pH (7.9 to 10.0). This type of water <br />is typical of groundwater in areas farther along the groundwater flow path and more <br />distant from natural recharge areas. An exception to this is evident in SOV42, which is <br />balanced between a sodium bicarbonate and a magnesium /potassium sulfate type of <br />chemistry. <br />PSCM Permit App. 2.04 -53 Revision 03/05/10 <br />
