Publication: Steamboatpilot.com
Start Date: 11/06/2016
Expires: 09/05/2017
15298-1 NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety proposes to
approve Technical Revision Application No. 9 (TR -9) for the Peabody Sage Creek Mine (Permit No. C-2009-087),
submitted by Peabody Sage Creek Mining, LLC. Peabody Sage Creek Mining, LLC. has submitted this Technical
Revision (TR -09) for Division approval to modify the hydrologic monitoring plan. The proposed revised plan will
eliminate monitoring of several spoil spring sites, suspend monitoring of several wells while the mine is idle, modify
the frequency for bedrock and alluvial well monitoring, discontinue monitoring at Pond 004 since two additional
upstream monitoring points have been initiated and the addition of a qualifier that certain monitoring parameters will
only be measured if the flow is less than 1 gallon per minute at all stream and spring monitoring sites. The Peabody
Sage Creek Mine is a/an underground coal mine located in Routt County, approximately 9 miles SE of Hayden. Coal
interest is federal, state and private, and the surface affected is federal, state and private land. The permit area
encompasses approximately 10,164.00 acres. This proposed decision is based on a finding that the proposed
operation will comply with all requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34 33 101,
et seq., C.R.S., and the regulations promulgated thereunder. Copies of the proposed decision, including stipulations,
are on file for public inspection at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, Centennial
Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by
the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on the proposed
decision. Such request must be made within ten (10) days of the initial publication of this notice, must be in writing,
and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the request and the objections to the proposed decision.
Published in the Steamboat Pilot & Today Publication Date: November 6, 2016 10442693
Back
• CRAIG DAILY PRESS
• EXPLORE CRAIG
• STEAM BOAT TODAY
STEAM BOAT HOM EFINDER
• EXPLORE STEAMBOAT
© 2016 Steamboat Pilot & Today I Craig Daily Press
g11Yi1W4 tR:AMAIIb
1
Powered By
https://steamboat.onIineads.advpubtech.com/showads/ad/view/ad id/13305895/title/15298-
1++N0TICE+0F+PR0P0SED+DECISI0N
